Dead Dreams

To be a child is to be allowed to dream they say
To lie awake at night seeing pictures in your mind
But children grow as fast as moon and thunder
Filling the winds with their childhood memories
Of forgotten nights and far doomed wishes
And leave behind a starlit silent darkness

Shining world
Sleeping dark

To grow up is to change one's mind they say
To realise the true and false and to see every lie
But grown-ups leave their thoughts faded away
Living and working and spending their life
By losing the glimpse of time they've been given
So dreary and fallen deeply down to earth

Greying world
Awaking dark

I buried my dreams
Beneath my skin
Beyond my words
On a dark winter's night

To live is to be looking for silver dreams I say
To stare into a moonlit sky wishing to be someone
But I lost my dreams in this cold winter of my life
Spreading my broken wings to search for the wind
Of memory that took away my hopeful longing
And left me here in a white closed coffin of dead dreams

Sleeping world
Shining dark

I buried my dreams
Beneath my skin
Beyond my words
On a dark winter's night

I buried my dreams
Beneath this earth
Beyond this world
In a dark winter's life
